Cancelling an Auto Refill Prescription
When a prescription is the Auto Refill program is cancelled, the future fill activity date is updated in the Profile tab depending on if the prescription chain has previous fills or if this is the first prescription in the chain.
Use the dropdowns below to learn more about each scenario.
When cancelling an Auto Refill prescription that is the first fill in the prescription chain, a prompt appears to confirm if the prescription should be put on HOLD and, if so, to select the date the future fill activity should be scheduled, if required.
Select one of the following options:
-
Add to Data Entry - the prescription is scheduled to be filled on the selected date.
The prescription's status is updated to HOL. The prescription will appear in the Data Entry queue on the Workbench for the specified date and the future fill activity date will appear in the Profile tab.
-
Do Not add to Data Entry - the prescription remains enrolled in the Auto Refill program, but is not scheduled for a future fill activity. When the prescription is next filled, a future fill activity is calculated based on that fill date.
The prescriptions status is updated to HOL and no future fill activity date appears in the Profile tab.
When cancelling a refill prescription, or a prescription that has previous fills in the previous chain, that is part of the Auto Refill program, the following occurs in the Profile tab:
-
Prescription status is updated to CAN
-
The Due column and the future fill activity are updated based the previous fill's day supply
When cancelling a Hold prescription after it is enrolled in Auto Refill, the prescription remains enrolled in the Auto Refill program (if it's not the first in chain), and the future fill activity date is recalculated based on values taken from the last Complete prescription.
